Here are some fun & funky ideas using rocks and shoes. I love the gorgeous colored stone walkway, the rocks have been placed in a beautiful pattern with a flower in the center..cool! Also love the stacked rocks as well, something about them is really soothing and contemplative to me. Lastly there are the plantings in the various vintage shoes, I adore these and I will be on the hunt for a few vintage shoes that I can make into planters...how funky! All of these photos were taken at various residences, during the Portland Metro gardens tour. Hooray for gardeners & their gardens, and for helping to make the world more beautiful & sustainable & for keeping bees in business too.
This is my first visit to your blog. I am really impressed with the stone work you are showing here. Love the shoes too. I'll stop by often to see what else you have to offer.
Thanks for the kind comments all, I love when I come across beautiful garden & garden paths! Hopefully I have my camera with me at the time. Now if I only had more time and money I would spend just about all of my waking hours in the garden! Cyd

Those are some really unique uses of small stones in the garden. They call to mind our cobblestone houses, here in the northeast near Lake Ontario.
I love your rock patterns and structures.

I have a thing for stones in the garden too. They seem soothing and they're free! Thanks for the great photos and ideas
What a cool pathway and I love those shoes!!!! I'll have to check out some thrift shops and see if I can get my own shoe rack going in the spring.
